Interior glass doors can come in so many designs that can be adapted to any style. If we were to make a recommendation, we will say without blinking that interior glass doors can be used in any house, replacing the plain ones. If not for their beauty, at least for how they allow light flow around the house.
In this article we’ll focus on pocket doors, some of the most ignored type of interior doors. And we’ll refer, of course, to glass pocket doors.
They will come in handy not only in a room where there is little space for swing doors, but also there where there is more space. They will allow you to decorate and use the entire floor plan, without worry about the space needed to accommodate the swing.
One disadvantage, however, is that if you don’t have pocket doors installed when the house is built, you may find it difficult to add them. It’s not impossible, but you’ll have to go the extra mile to build the pockets in the walls. You’ll need to take down and rebuilt the wall when you create the pocket and install the roller tracks. Also, when installing them, you should pay attention to what else is there in the wall. Make sure there are no electrical wires or plumbing, that there are no electrical switches or outlets. But worry not, if you want to have it both ways, you can always make a thicker wall and everything will fit in just fine.
So, there you have it: glass pocket doors will offer you extra space, more light, and freedom of movement. Plus, they can become invisible when they are “open”. Please find a few examples in our left gallery and find your inspiration.
